The Patient
A walk with friends should be a simple thing. For many people living with chronic stable angina, it isn’t.

Before they say yes, they’re running through questions no one else in the group is thinking about. How far are we going? Will I need to stop? What if the chest pain starts in front of everyone? What if I end up back in the emergency room?
Many of these patients have done everything asked of them. They take their medications as prescribed, and the chest pain still comes.(1) Some have been told another stent or bypass isn’t an option.(1) Over time, they may stop asking whether they can join in—and simply decide not to. The walk, the grandchild’s game, the trip they planned for years all quietly drop away.
Roughly 1.7 million Americans live with chronic stable angina.(2) External counterpulsation (ECP) is a noninvasive option for eligible patients, yet fewer than 1% receive it.(3) Many are never told it exists. Others live too far from a clinic that offers it.
Pression built Wave PRO™ so more healthcare facilities can offer ECP, giving these patients another option.(4)
The Pression Wave PRO External Counter-Pulsation System is indicated for the treatment of chronic stable angina (CSA) that is refractory to optimal anti-anginal medical therapy and without options for revascularization in adult patients that weigh greater than 40kg. In addition, it is intended for use in healthy adult patients to provide improvement in vasodilation, increased VO2, and increased blood flow. It is intended for use under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
