From Cardiac Care to the Operating Room: Pression’s Platform Earns a New Patent Allowance
We are excited to share that Pression has received a Notice of Allowance from the USPTO for our patent application “System and Methods for Synchronizing External Compression of a Limb for Surgical Use” (App. No. 18/417,968).
Our core technology — cardiac-synchronized external compression — was built to treat Chronic Stable Angina by improving blood flow non-invasively. This newly allowed patent extends that same foundation into an entirely new setting: the operating room.
This system times external limb compression to simulate a passive limb raise and return fluid to central circulation — giving anesthesiologists and surgical teams a way to assess fluid responsiveness on demand, without repositioning the patient.
It’s a great example of how the underlying platform we developed for CSA has applications well beyond its original use case, and we’re excited to keep expanding what this technology can do.
